Sad day!
Today one of my favourite science-fiction authors - Sir Arthur C. Clarke passed away. He was 90 years old. Most people know him as the author of 2001: Space Odyssey. My first encounter with Science-Fiction was his 1961 book "A Fall of Moondust". It was given to me by my father when I was at a very young age. After reading the book and especially after reading Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama", I fell in love with the science-fiction genre and this love never ended. In 1945 Arthur Clarke invented the concept of the communication satellite and in his honour the geostationary orbit is called "Clarke Orbit". He will be dearly missed!!!
